Are Mindfulness beads for everyone?
Even my 9y/o daughter has one. She chose a Carousel Horse charm, because she said it reminds her of the Carousel at Port Dalhousie which she used to ride every summer, when we lived in St. Catharines. She said it makes her “think happy thoughts”. Her favourite Mindfulness Activities are #1 and #4.
Mindfulness beads are specifically constructed for durability.
They are strung on 19-strand beading wire, so you can be assured when you clip them onto your keyring, they are strong and up for the task!
Each strand consists of different sized beads, this is to encourage us to reflect on
1. Take note of: 2 things you can see; 2 things you can smell; 2 things you can hear; 2 things you can touch; 2 most prominent thoughts right now.
2. Count 10 things you have accomplished (pick your own timeframe)
3. Choose a goal: what are the 10 steps between you and the goal.
“Mindfulness is simply being aware of what is happening right now without wishing it were different; enjoying the pleasant without holding on when it changes (which it will); being with the unpleasant without fearing it will always be this way (which it won’t).” – James Baraz
Mindfulness is seen as the act of being in the present.
