Mentorship is the influence, guidance, or direction given by a mentor. A mentor is someone who teaches or gives help and advice to another person. A wholistic life mentor is concerned about your emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being as a part of the bigger picture that is you.
Your life path has lead you through wonderful and scary events, both equally important in the lessons they have taught you, and they have all culminated in where you are right at this very moment. If where you are is not where you want to be, then that is good — you are on a path that is continually leading you through life. It is always open to realignment.
In order to heal, we cannot simply look at what is wrong in the moment, we must look at all aspects of our life — including what is right! To move forward, we must first gain clarity.
What I offer is not a guide — I am not a Sherpa to lead you up the mountain. Instead, what I am is a light in the darkness. For some moments, it may only be a candle, but in those moments, that will be enough — for other moments, together we will turn that candle into 100 candles… and if those aren’t enough, we’ll find a mirror and double it!
By this analogy, I mean that my services are not intended to tell you where to go on your life path. This is your life, only you can take each step on your own. Through talk, Reiki, crystal healing, talk, goal-setting, guided meditation, talk, creative art therapy and much more talk, together we will put words to your story and find the next solid ground for your life path to lead onward.
I call myself a Wholistic Life Mentor because “life coach” isn’t really what I am. I won’t tell you when to get up in the morning or how to budget (although, these are both topics we can discuss and see how they fit into your bigger picture!) and I won’t tell you how many miles to walk or where to volunteer (although I will applaud you if these are newly achieved goals!) What I WILL do is ask a lot of questions, talk to you over tea, perform simple acts of Reiki, crystal healing, chakra opening, and listen to you a whole lot.
The word wholistic refers to the whole, a whole item or whole body of a person or thing. The word defines the consideration of the entire structure or makeup, which includes the body, mind and the spirit in the case of a human being. A Mentor is an experienced and trusted adviser. Without trust, we simply could not move forward together. We will spend a short amount of time in the beginning building this trust, and a longer amount of time deconstructing exactly what trust means over the course of our work together.
This is a safer space that we are constructing together, and I operate from an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, intersectional, fat liberation mindset. If we both come to the table open-minded about the other, I believe we will be able to work cohesively on any project set out before us!
My clients are big thinkers. They want to get to the heart of the issues and to develop skills and insight that they can put into practice in their day-to-day lives. As your Mentor, my job is to hold this safer space for you to share the longing you feel now and help you forge a path to the future you know is yours to claim.
Sessions will last between 45-75 minutes. After our first session, where we will both assess each other and our cohesion, we will look at a commitment of approximately 6 to 10 sessions, with an open-end for continuation.
I am here at your behest as a fine-tuned tool to assist your growth and expression along your life path. Together we can shed light on your next steps. You can do this, you just have to believe in yourself! This is your life. This is your story. What will the next chapter look like?
